Easy experience points
After you get Lucia and before you fight the Guardian,
stay in the tower and fight monsters to gain experience points
and levels. You will need them to fight the Guardian.
To gain levels late in the game, you can fight the Chiro enemies
in the White Dragon cave. You need to be at level 50 so that Hiro
can use Triple Sword. Keep in mind that the Chiros will usually
run away after one round. When you go into the battle, use everyone's
strongest attacks. A victory will net 33,333 experience points
and 11,111 silver. This is especially helpful immediately before
Zophar.
Use the following to get easy experience after Zophar/ Go to the
area near Neo-vane's crash spot to find a place called Lionhead.
There are some very tough enemies there. Find the one called Dark
Sphere or something that looks like those black spheres that use
electricity in some of the other dungeons. This thing is hard
to defeat without having Leo's Soul Blade because all normal and
most magic and technique attacks only hit for 1. To battle it,
have Hiro defend. Have Ronfar use Angry Dice and revive and heal
people. Have Lemina use Catastrophe if she has it -- if not, defend.
Have Jean defend. Leo should use Soul Blade, which will do 200
to 300 damage on the enemy. After about three or four turns it
should die, resulting in 22,222 experience points. An alternate
method is to have Hiro use Concussion Sword and everyone else
defend.
In Neo-Vane, at the Cave Of Trial, you can get free experience
points from the Scorpion enemies. You should have the normal battle
positions as the game has it set, and give Lemina the Ice Staff
so she can hit the enemies with an ice attack. When you fight
the Scorpions, have Jean and Hiro attack the top Scorpion. This
will push him back. Ronfar will not be able to attack because
of his range. Then, have Lemina attack the top Scorpion. If done
correctly all three Scorpions will be defeated for 560 experience
points.
You can do this before or after Zophar. Go to White Dragon Cave
and find Chiros. They are the enemies that have a very high defense
and runs away after one turn. Have Hiro use Triple Sword, Lemina
use Catasrophe, Jean use Blue Dragon Fist, and Leo use Soul Blade.
Equip Ronfar with Earth Crest/Thunder Crest or Water Crest/Thunder
Crest or Water Crest/Fire Crest or Fire Crest/Wind Crest combinations
so that he can use Pulse Explosion. Use it on Chiro and it should
die. Without Pulse Explosion, Chiro will not die.
Make Ruby dizzy
Go to a wide menu screen (the inventory screen is recommended).
Move the pointer to the far left side of the inventory. Press
[Left] and the pointer will move to the far right side, prompting
Ruby to start flying across the screen. Keep pressing [Left]
and [Right] to move the pointer back and forth between the
edges of the menu, leaving Ruby stuck in the middle of the screen,
flying back and forth. Eventually, Ruby's flying animation stops,
and Ruby will move down just a bit on the screen. Stop moving
the pointer and watch Ruby spin around in a daze.
Make Ruby kill a leader
When you fight the Guardian, get Hiro and Gwyn to trap
the Guardain in the corner and keep Lucia alive Let Hiro and Gwyn
die, which makes it a stalemate. Ruby will jump in and kill the
Guardian. This is a event that foreshadows the Ruby Red Dragon
transformation.
Dashing item combo
Equip a character with the Yellow Pajamas, Gorgon Doll,
and Rubber Boots. Now your dungeon dashes will last four times
the usual duration, with the catch being the PJ-wearing character
will be asleep when you inevitably get into a fight.
Crest combos
Place the Chiro Crest and the Shiro Crest together
to get a decent amount of speed and 200 range. Place the Thunder
Crest and the Wind Crest together to get Thunder Wind magic. Place
the Power Crest with any Crest of magic (Mute, Poison, Thunder)
and your physical attack will sometimes inflict damage/status
of that crest's type. Note: You must have both crests on the same
person.
The following combos have the corresponding effect.
Power/any crest: stronger magic
Earth/Thunder: wearer can use Pulse Explosion.
Earth/Wind: See above
Warrior/Seal: Attack power doubled, but wearer cannot use magic
or skills.
Wind/Thunder: Wearer can use Lightning Rain, Plasma Shock, Wind
Cutter, Squall, and Thunder Tornado
Shiro/Chiro: Speed +10, Range 200!
Chiro/Chiro: First attack, Speed +10
Snake/Revenge: Attack more each round
Mind/Warrior: Attack last, Attack +45
Healing/Magic Eye: Attack with absorbing enemy's MP.
Water/Thunder: Wearer can use Pulse Explosion.
Water/Fire: See above
Fire/Wind: See above
Fire/Thunder: Wearer can use Lightning Rain, Plasma Shock, Flame,
Flame Bomb, and Shining Flame
Fire/Earth: Wearer can use Rock Viper, Rock Crush, Flame Bomb,
and Burning Quake
Water/Earth: Wearer can use Rock Viper, Rock Crush, Ice Pick,
Ice Lance, and Icicle Break
Water/Wind: Wearer can use Ice Pick, Ice Lance, Wind Cutter, Squall,
and Mighty Mistral
Gale/Hunter: Projectile attack
Archer/Ogre: Range+
Goddess Crest
Put the Goddess Crest on a warrior and your attack
will increase dramatically.
Put the Goddess Crest with the Gale Crest (found in the dragon's
nest north of the Holy City in the Epilogue). It will increase
your number of attacks.
You must have the Goddess Crest and the Magic Eye Crest. You no
longer need to use a lot of your magic. For example, Freeze Smash
(Lemina's Magic) normally uses 20 MP. However, if you have the
Goddess Crest and the Magic Eye Crest this will be reduced to
10 MP.
Raise range
Combine Shiro and Chiro Crest will raise the player's
range to 200.
