Starter decks
Depending on the name used at the start of the game,
you will get a different type of starter deck. Try names such
as "Konami", "Rod", or "Puzzle".
Enter the names "Kaiba" or "Scale" and choose the monster
with highest number (on the left) to get a Kaiser Dragon (2300/2000).
Look on the back of PlayStation2 game cases. Look carefully to
find sponsor names. Use those names as your name to get different
cards. Not all names will work. Also, use the names of consoles
such as "Nintendo". Leave out the numbers.
When starting the game, enter "Katsuya" as a name and choose
Fairy King Truesdale as your deck leader. Your deck will be packed
with insect and plant monsters such as two Hercules Beetles, a
Kwagar Hercules, a Needle Worm, and a Great Mammoth Of Goldfine.
Side with the Lancastrians (Red Rose) and duel Weevil at Chester.
There is a good chance that you will win.
Enter "Flame" as a name. This should show one of the starter
decks with the deck leader Robotic Knight. Select this deck. This
decks is powerful because it is full of machines, includes Wasteland
(powers up all machines and allows them to move two spaces), and
the machines will never have an attack lower than 1500.
Enter "Coke" as a name. You will now have the following.
Deck 1: Serpentine Princess; Deck 2: Luminous Soldier; and Deck
3: Thunder Nyan Nyan.

name is used.

Improved odds in Graveyard Slots
Copy Cat, Mimicat, and Monster Reborn allow you to
manipulate the content of your opponent's Graveyard and help narrow
down it down for the Graveyard Slots (revived cards go to the
reviver's Graveyard when destroyed). Paralyzing Potion is another
effective way to get monsters out of the way without sending them
to the Graveyard, thus improving your odds in the Graveyard Slots.
This trick can only be used when there is only one monster in
the Graveyard possible of getting, as when you use the "Edit
Map" trick. When using the slot machine, you can see the
arrows on the side. As you can see, they are usually blinking.
When they disappear, the card is on the other side of the slot.
You can use this to your advantage.
Place the needed card in your deck and destroy it in a custom
battle (for example, Komori Dragon for the Blue-Eyes White Dragon
or Dark Magician for the Dark Magician Girl). It may be helpful
to place more than one card in the deck for higher chances of
getting the desired card.
Note: This trick requires a monster with the Hidden Find ability.
This will only work with magic cards. It is recommended you try
this after you have completed both sides. First, get a monster
(such as Pumpking) ranked high enough to where it gains the Hidden
Find ability. Then, play against Shadi and move your deck leader
to the exact center square. A screen will appear, stating that
you have found the hidden treasure, Souleater. Finish the duel,
or if you are in a hurry, surrender. Go to "Custom Duel".
Next, put Souleater in your deck, and three of any magic card
(such as Silver Bow And Arrow, Beast Fangs, etc.). Start a custom
battle, and go through the deck until you come across Souleater.
Place it in face-up defense. This will activate its special skill.
Next, play any high level monster onto the field and have it attack
your opponent's defense position monsters. Wipe them off the field.
Make sure you do not attack any offensive monsters or the deck
leader until the opponent has played the three magic cards from
his deck and gotten them into his graveyard. Once the three magic
cards are in his graveyard, go after the deck leader and wipe
out its LP to win the duel. When you now go into the Graveyard
Slots, there will just be the three magic cards in it. This is
also useful in getting more immortal monsters and possibly even
some unique rares.
Build a deck with rare cards that do not appear in slots such
as Exodia pieces, Barrel Dragons, etc. Also, some magic and trap
cards do not appear in the slots. Next, put in as many of the
card that you want to try to get three in a row in the deck, such
as Swordstalker, Piercing Light, Red Eyes Black Dragon, etc. Then,
go to custom duel and duel yourself. All that should be in the
slots are the three non-rare cards. Try using Swordstalker as
the leader, Brigidier, because he has three chances and have three
of him in the slots. You will get about four to five trap cards
and four Swordstalkers in the slots.
Get Souleater. Mass combo cards until you draw it, then use its
ability to rid the graveyard of all but the card you want in the
slots. Be sure to put three of the magic card in your deck. Be
patient with it, but in the long run, it is well worth the time.
New card picture
Any time that you gain a card through lining up three
of a kind in the Graveyard Slots, you will get a new picture for
that card in your chest. Some examples include: Blue Eyes White
Dragon, Red Eyes Black Dragon, Summoned Skull, Gemini Elf, and
Flame Swordsman.
Ritual monsters
When using the Graveyard Slot machine after battle,
get three cards that are required to get a ritual monster. If
you do, you will get that ritual monster as well as the three
cards. For example, win against Bones at Exeter and in the Graveyard
Slots, get any Insect, Machine, and Zombie monster. Note: The
cards only appear in the slots if they are used in battle; duel
against opponents that have ritual cards.
Baby Dragon: Reincarnation
If You Reincarnate Baby Dragon, you can get Exodia
pieces. This may require a few attempts.
Barrel Dragon: Reincarnation
If you reincarnate Barrel Dragon, you will get three
tough creatures or nice magics (for example, Sagna Of Thunder,
Kazejin, Suijin, KaiserDragon, Harpies Pet Dragon, Skull Knight,
Ryu-Ran, Coldwave, Solomans Lawbook, and Tremendous Fire).
Black Luster Ritual
You can obtain the Black Luster Ritual via the graveyard
slots and not have to line up three Curse Of Dragons. Wait until
Yugi summons the ritual to the field, destroy it, and obtain it
in the slots.
Blue Eyes or a Dark Magician Girl
You must either have a Dark Magician or a Red Eyes
as a leader and have completed both the Red and White Rose chapters
to unlock the edit map for the custom duel. If you what a Magician
Girl, your leader must be the Dark Magician; Red Eyes for Blue
Eyes. Then go to the "Edit Map" option at the custom
duel selection. Then, build the following terrain, where "N"
indicates normal and "L" indicates labyrinth.

N N L N L N N
N N L L L N N
N N N N N N N
N N N N N N N
N N N N N N N
N N N N N N N

Battle at that terrain. When you begin, press [Start]. When
it is your opponent's turn, he will surrender. When you get to
the Graveyard Slot part, get three Dark Magicians or three Red
Eyes to get the Magician Girl or the Blue Eyes. You can also use
this terrain to get your deck leader a promotion.
Change Of Heart: Reincarnation
If you reincarnate Change Of Heart you can get Three
Suijins. This may require a few attempts.
Curse Of Dragon
If you do not have Zombie Warrrior, fuse Monster Egg
with Fiend's Hand. Then, fuse Zombie Warrior with Meteor Dragon
to get Curse Of Dragon.
Cyber Commander: Reincarnation
To obtain Exodia's Left Leg, reincarnate Cyber Commander.
This may require a few turns.
Dark Magician: Hidden ability
If you can raise the Dark Magician ranking to Major
(star with the stripe), you will be able to perform the same extra
slot try just as the Robot Knight.
Dark Magician: Reincarnation
If you reincarnate Dark Magician, you can get good
cards such as Kasier Dragon, Toon Summoned Skull, Solomons' Lawbook,
and others.
Exodia: Summoning
To pull off an instant victory with Exodia, you must
have Exodia The Forbidden One as your deck leader. Any deck leader
status will do. During your turns, you must place the four pieces
of Exodia in the correct spaces (Left Leg, Right Leg, Left Arm,
Head, and Right Arm). The deck leader can be placed in between
the arms or legs. All four pieces must be face up. Once all this
has been accomplished, the game will give your opponent one last
chance to stop you. On your next turn, the summon will engage.
To obtain all of the pieces, you must use passwords, reincarnations,
and line up slot rares. To get the Head and Left Arm, use the
passwords. To get the Left and Right Legs, reincarnate. The best
cards to reincarnate are those around a deck cost of 20. To get
the final piece, the Right Arm, you must line up three cards in
the slots. The best cards to line up are Cocoons of Evolution,
which appear when you duel Weevil.
Fake Trap: Reincarnation
Reincarnate a Fake Trap to get Exodia Pieces.
Flame Swordsman: Reincarnation
Reincarnate a Flame Swordsman to get a Labyrinth Wall.
You can also get a Skull Knight.
Magic Drain: Reincarnation
If you reincarnate Magic Drain (DC: 60) you can get
good cards such as:
Sanga Of The Thunder (common)
Suijin (very common)
Kazejin (common)
Dust Tornado
Skull Knight! (rare)
Graverobber! (very rare)
Fissure (sucks)
Dragon Capture Jar
Winspread Ruin
Stainstorm
Eternal Drought
Dian Keto the Cure Master (extremely rare)
Warrior Elimination
Roaring Ocean Snake
Manga-Ryu Ran: Reincarnation
If you reincarnate Pegasus's Manga-Ryu Ran, you will
get some kind of ritual stop card (useful for stopping the Ultimate
Dragon Ritual), Tremendous Fire, and the rare card Skull Knight.
Millennium
To summon Millennium, you have to have Curse Of The
Millennium Shield and two cards with 2100 DEF.
Millennium Shield: Strong attack
You first need to have the Curse of the Millennium
Ritual and three monsters over 2000 DEF. When you summon the Millennium
Shield, make sure you have a Shield And Sword Magic card so that
you can switch out the shield's defense to its attack, giving
it a 4000 ATK.
Mirror Wall
Mirror Wall (DC: 80) is a powerful card. Use it against
a Blue Eyes. If any card (in this case Blue Eyes) attacks any
of your cards, its attack is cut in half, making a Blue Eyes ATK
1500. If the card attacks again, it will be halved again, (Blue
Eyes ATK 750). Blue Eyes can now be killed by the weakest monsters
in the game.
Mystical Elf: Hidden ability
Promote Mystical Elf to RADM, and all three lines will
be available in the Graveyard Slots. This is very useful when
trying to get those tricky rares.
Paralyzing Potion: Reincarnation
Reincarnate Paralyzing Potion to get Mesmeric Control
and Metalmorph.
Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth: Obtain
quickly
After summoning an Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth card
using Cocoon Of Evolution and baby insect cards, use a Monster
Reborn or Mimicat card to resurrect Pupa Of Moth to the field.
Pupa Of Moth then transforms into another Perfectly Ultimate Great
Moth. You can resurrect Pupa Of Moth from the graveyard again.
Pumpking: Effect on all your monsters
This trick will work very well if you have a deck that
is good in Wasteland, and if you have Pumpking or a fusion for
Pumpking, Call Of The Haunted, or Blue-Eyed Silver Zombie. First,
get Pumpking on the field and flip it face up on defense position
to activate its nature affect. Then, summon three more monsters
on the field. Wait until you have Call Of The Haunted or Blue-Eyed
Silver Zombie. When you have the card, use it. Blue-eyed Silver
Zombie/Call Of The Haunted's effect turns all of your monsters
into zombies. Try this trick on Rex Raptor. Note: Before you do
this, it might be useful to power-up the monsters that you want
to turn into zombies.
Red-Eyes Black Dragon
To get the Red-Eyes Black Dragon, have Joey summon
it. Defeat the Red-Eyes Black Dragon and get it in the Graveyard
Slots.
Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon
Have Joey summon it by combining his Metalmorph and
his Red-Eyes Black Dragon. Defeat it, but you need to get the
Red-Eyes Black Dragon and the Metalmorph in the slots.
Robotic Knight: Extra Graveyard slot
chance
Robotic Knight has a hidden ability that lets you have
an extra shot at matching three cards in Graveyard Slots. It lets
you now try to match three cards on the top row. You get this
after you raise your rank to the first star with the yellow stripe.
Royal Decree: Reincarnation
If you reincarnate a Royal Decree, it will give you
three Suijins.
Steel Scorpion: Reincarnation
Reincarnate a Steel Scorpion to get a Right Arm Of
the Forbidden One (Exodia piece). This may require several attempts
because of the frequency that Fake Trap appears.
Steel Scorpion: Deck leader
Level up a Steel Scorpion to Second Lieutenant and
put it as your deck leader. Then, level it up to Major and you
will have two abilities (increased movement/same type friendlies
and open opponent's cards in summoning range) as well as the extra
top slot ability.
Swordstalker: Stronger attack
An easy way to give Swordstalker a strength of 3800
power attack points or more is to sacrifice all the monsters in
your deck. Due to Swordstalker's special effect, it will become
stronger than those of the CPU.
If you have mainly a monster deck with three Swordstalkers, this
trick will be very useful. Start by repeatedly trying to combine
all of your monsters except for your Swordstalkers. Then, try
to send out your Swordstalkers. It will have a power of a 6300/5900
or more. Try making multiple fusions with one card and destroy
the card. For example, Zombie + Warrior = Skull knight + Hard
armor = Armored Zombie. You will have four cards gone instead
of three. Do not forget to destroy your last card with your own
leader.
Try to gain a card called Darkness Falls. It is a magic card that
lets you flip all cards face down. Next, go to custom battle and
make your CPU opponent play it or use it. Get it multiple times
in the card slots, then get a Swordstalker (or two or three) in
your deck. Put the Swordstalker on the field and discard all of
your monster cards (not Swordstalker) and magic/trap cards (not
Darkness Falls). Flip your Swordstalker to make its attack become
6,000. Use Darkness Falls to flip it face down then flip it up
again so that its attack is now at 10,000. Flip it over again
face down with Darkness Falls and flip it face up to make it have
an outstanding attack power of 14,000, which is enough to kill
three Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragons together (13,500) Finally, use
your last Darkness Falls to flip it down again. Flip it up to
make the monster have 18,000 attack points. Also, use Copycat
and The Magician Of Faith to increase it even more by recovering
more Darkness Falls to make the ultimate monster. In the end of
all the recovery of cards and power increases, Swordstalker will
have a total of 36,000 ATK and 32,000 DEF.
Note: Note a monster cannot exceed an Attack or Defense value
above 9999.
Swordstalker: Extra Graveyard Slot
Chance
Just like the Dark Magician and Slot Machine monster
cards, Swordstalker can learn the Hidden Ability to match up three
cards on the top row as well as the middle row when it reaches
the rank of Major (one star with one yellow line). However, unlike
the Dark Magician and Slot Machine, Swordstalker gains the ability
to match up three cards in the bottom row as well when it reaches
the rank of Brigadier (one star with three yellow lines).
Suijin: Reincarnation
If you reincarnate Suijin, you will naturally get good
cards. However, the real payoff is that you can get Sanga and
Kazejin. You can get them both at the same time.
Zoa and Metalzoa
Face J. Shadi in a match and destroy his Zoa card.
Do not use Monster Reborn on Zoa. Just get Zoa in the Graveyard
Slots then face Joey. Defeat him and make sure you destroy a Metalmorph.
Win Metalmorph in the slots and combine it with Zoa to get Metalzoa
(3000/2400).
You can also get Zoa and Metalzoa from Bandit Keith, but it may
require a few attempts as he does not play it frequently.
Hidden card
In most maps, there is a hidden card somewhere on the
map. In order to get these cards you must move your Deck Leader
over a specific location on the map. You may have to complete
the game as both sides for these cards to appear. For example,
in all the battles at Stone Henge, move your Deck Leader to the
center of the map, in between all the labyrinth terrain. There
should be a different card there against each opponent.
To be able to find and get the hidden cards on the field during
a duel, your deck leader must be ranked as a Major (one star and
one yellow line) or better. You must also have a deck cost that
is lower than 1000.
Hidden card locations
To find the cards, your deck leader has to have the
ability to find cards (Hidden Ability) and you need to have completed
both sides of the story.
The Field layout is as follows:
A
B
C
D
E
F
G
*1 2 3 4 5 6 7
The following are the locations and cards acquired:
Mai-E7: Dust Tornado
Yugi-D1: Carat Idol
Bakura-A7: Shape Snatch
Joey-E7: Rigras Leever
Mako-E6: Time Eater
Tea-E5: Servant of Catabolism
Grandpa-C4: Dharma Cannon
Necromancer-A1: Eternal Rest
Weevil-D7: Eradicating Aerosol
Rex Raptor-A7: Cold Wave
Panik (Darkness Ruler)-B6: -Exile of the Wicked
Isthar-D4: Jowls of Demise
Tristan-D5: Novox Prayer
Pegasus-A4: Electromagnetic Bagworm
Bandit Keith-C4: Strain Storm
Shadi-D4: Souleater
Labyrinth Ruler-A7: Catapult Turtle
King-B4: Warrior Elimination
Final Bosses-D4: ???
Kaiba-D4: Moisture Creature
Many of the monsters are Immortal Type (strong in crush territory)
and very powerful in terms of their effects (Souleater is great).
Most of the magic cards are those that destroy all monsters of
a specific type (usually the type primarily used by the opponent
you get the card against, for example, Cold Wave, obtained against
Rex Raptor, kills all dinosaur type monsters).
Gain doubles of your cards
This trick requires only one memory card in the memory
card slot. Go into the custom duel and set your deck up so that
your best cards are in there. Both you and the CPU's decks will
have the same cards in them. When you win, the slot machine will
be there and you can get your best cards repeatedly. This is very
useful with Red Eyes, Blue Eyes and other cards that your have
only one copy of.
Use the following trick to duplicate cards and promote weak monsters.
A second memory is not required. Go to vs. duel and Duel Master
K. Make the card you want to duplicate your leader, play the Duel
Master in the default crush field. Note: Make sure you have some
monsters under 1500 ATK. Do not use any field cards. Instead,
Duel Master K will at the most send out one or two monsters. Destroy
these and defeat him in battle. Because he has the exact same
deck as you, he will have the same deck leader. In the slots,
the deck leader will be there. Get the monster you want in the
slots. The battle is easy. The longer the battle the better, as
this helps promote weak monsters.
Get any card
This trick requires two memory cards and two controllers.
Start a file on the first memory card then save as soon as possible.
Then, on the second memory card, start a file and save. Next,
go back to the first memory card and choose "Trade"
with both memory cards inserted. You can now trade the weakest
cards in your deck for the strongest in the other deck. After
this, you can do it again by starting a new file or battling duelists
on the second memory card.
Getting good or rare cards
Use the following trick to multiply your good cards,
get rare cards, and practice the Graveyards Slots. After clearing
the game, the "Edit" option appears in a custom duel.
You can edit the terrain to make all of the summoning spaces around
your opponent labyrinth. Once the duel starts, pass your turn
and your opponent will be forced to forfeit. You will then be
able to play the slots with only your deck leader (against Deck
Master K) in with nine Fake Traps.
Promote cards
Use the following trick to promote cards under 1,500
attack. Once you have completed the White Rose and Red Rose sides,
save the game and go to "Custom Duel" at the main menu.
Only have one memory card in use. Create a B or C deck. Have a
lot of strong cards in your deck above 1,500 except the card you
want promoted. Have three of that card in your deck. Go to map
edit mode and create a map as follows (C= Crush, L = Labyrinth,
N = Normal).

L L L L L L L
L L C C L L N
L L C L L L N
L L N N L L N
N N N N N N N
N N N N N N N
N N N N N N N

Once you draw the card you want, move it in front of your opponent's
deck leader and attack until you win. Keep repeating and you will
eventually get it promoted. Also, move other cards around on the
field face up (not in crush) and you might get them promoted as
well. Each time they get promoted, it will take longer to raise
their rank.
Getting magic or trap cards
Go to the custom duel and assemble any desired deck
with only contain magic or trap cards. Go to map edit mode and
create a map as follows (N = Normal, L = Labyrinth)

N L N N N L N
N L N N N L N
N N L N L N N
N N L N L N N
N N L N L N N
N N N N N N N

When you play, your opponent will not move (as he is using the
same cards). He will set out magic and will not use or move them.
You can take him out whenever desired by surrounding him.
Easy custom duel
Use the following in custom duel (N = Normal, L = Labyrinth
). Note you will not be able to move your Deck Leader.

N N N N N N N
N N N N N N N
N N N N N N N
N N N L L L N
N N N L N L N
N N L N L L N

Your opponent will not be able to attack your Life points directly,
unless you both have Shadow Ghoul. You will still be able to summon
monsters to the field. If you have a card that you cannot afford
to lose, preferably Mirror Force, or a card that you want, put
it to the right of the field for safety.
Move two squares at a time
When a monster gets a Terrain Field boost, flip it
face up and it is allowed to move two squares at a time.
Unlimited flip effects
Play a Magician Of Faith or Mask Of Darkness in the
face down position, but do not move it or change its position.
Then, use the magic card Darkness Approaches. This will flip all
your cards face down. Now, flip the Mask Of Darkness or Magician
Of Faith card up and revive Darkness Approaches. On your next
turn, you can use it again to turn the Mask Of Darkness or Magician
Of Faith face down. Flip the Magician Of Faith or Mask OfDarkness
card up again and revive Darkness Approaches, which you can use
on your next turn. Then, add a Mystical Elf into the equation;
Mystical Elf, Darkness Approaches, Mask Of Darkness or Magician
Of Faith, in that order. The Mystical Elf's flip effect is an
800 point power bonus to all your light monsters, and if you use
her before Darkness Approaches, you can flip her again on your
next turn. With three Mystical Elfs, your light monsters gain
2400 attack and defense every round. Note: It is recommended that
you use the Magician Of Faith card, as it will receive the power
bonus that the Mask Of Darkness will not.
Lower opponent's monsters attack
quickly
Move Mirror Wall either to the far bottom left square
or far bottom right square. Put your leader next to it. Start
securing your leader and Mirror Wall with monsters. Start advancing
weak trap or magic cards (for example, Fake Trap, Forest). Mirror
Wall will activate and your opponent's monsters will be too weak
to battle. You will still get the monsters in the Graveyard, since
your opponent attacks all facedown cards.
Get a Mirror Wall and put it somewhere. Then, put a magic card
that you do not need somewhere near it so that it will attack.
Once it tries to attack, Mirror Wall will activate, cut its Attack
in half, and just move on the magic card. You can also use a weak
monster in defense mode.
Raise your monster's rank easily
Depending on which monster you have, you should go
against certain opponents. If the monster you want to raise in
rank has an attack power of 2000 to 2500, play against Tristan.
If it is lower then that, then play against Tea. If it is higher,
go against Joey. First, have as many of that monster in your deck,
then kill every monster with that card. Do not add power-ups or
attack the opponent's LP with magic cards. You can then have more
time killing the other monsters. Remember to kill the opponent's
deck leader personally with the card you want to raise in rank.
This will usually give you a big boost for raising your rank.
To obtain a very powerful monster you need to have a map with
Toon terrain (preferably close to your summoning area) and a terrain
that favors your monsters (such as Mountain if you have the Birdface
deck). You also need a very strong monster, lots of power-up cards,
and a Greenkappa. Summon your Greenkappa and move him onto the
Toon terrain. Then, summon a very powerful monster on its terrain
(for example, Meteor B. Dragon on Mountain), and equip your equip
cards to your strong monster. After that, flip up your Greenkappa
on the Toon terrain. Because of its effect, it will copy the attack
of the strongest monster on the field (which should be your monster).
Greenkappa will copy the attack on the Toon terrain, which should
be about 4500. Then, move your Greenkappa off the Toon terrain
and his attack will increase by 500, making it about 5000. If
you now move your Greenkappa onto Grassland, his attack will increase
by another 500 points, making it 5500. You can continue to strengthen
it with power ups such as Konai With Chain, but only equip cards
after you have capped your other monster's attack. Now you have
an unstoppable monster.
Level up your deck leaders
Note: This trick requires the Map Edit option and a
controller with a auto-fire or slow feature. First, build Labyrinth
around your opponent, except for one space. Put the monsters that
you want to level up on the field. Make sure you use Ookazi or
Tremendous Fire, etc. Set the controller on auto-fire or slow
for [Start]. When the battle is over, you will have more
Deck Leaders.
First, get a monster as your deck leader. Complete both sides
of the game and have a PlayStation memory card with Yu-Gi-Oh!
Forbidden Memories data in slot two and a PlayStation2 memory
card with Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelists Of Roses data in slot one.
You should be going again Exodia. Get three of the same monster
as your deck leader to the field. Attack all cards with the selected
monster that you want to level up. Attack the opponent's deck
leader after all cards on the other side are in the graveyard.
To help you against Exodia, put in Heavy Storm, Dark Hole, White
Hole, Royal Decree, and lots of Graverobbers, Monster Reborns,
and Mimicats.
Get the Fairy King Truesdale Deck. Then, put in the code for Fairy
King Truesdale ("YF07QVEZ"). Put the Fairy King Truesdale
card in your deck. It should automatically have a rank of Second
Lt.
Change deck sort
Hold [Select] at the deck sort screen and you
can change how it sorts by pressing [L2] or [R2].
Easy win
Use the passwords to get Crush Card ("SRA7L5YR"),
Mimicat ("69YDQM85"), Magician Of Faith ("GME1S3UM"),
and Royal Decree ("8TETQHE1"). Reincarnate Crush Card to
get Just Desserts. Keep combining the cards that not listed in
this tip until you get the ones needed. Do not use Just Desserts
until your opponent has five cards on the field and you have Royal
Decree on the field. Use Just Desserts and inflict 1500 points
of direct damage. The total damage will be 4500, which is more
than enough. This strategy is effective against Grandpa if you
want an Exodia deck.
Once you have completed the White Rose and Red Rose sides, save
the game and go to "Custom Duel" at the main menu. Only
have one memory card in use. Go to map edit mode. Build a map
with all your opponents summoning squares filled with labyrinth.
Start a duel. End your turn at the beginning. After your opponent
ends his turn, you will win. If your deck leader has a high rank
and an attack under 2600, he will be in the slots. Keep repeating
and eventually you will get three in a row if your timing is correct
to win special cards such as Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Toon Summoned
Skull, Cannon Soldier, etc.
Get a Thunder monster and a Dragon monster (good cards like Kaiser
Dragon and Thunder Dragon recommended), then combine them to get
Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon (2800/2100). Then, use Bright Castle
and get it on water, sea, or anything else wet and attack.
Have three Pumpkings in your deck, along with a lot of strong
zombies (such as the Great Mammoth Of Golfine) and crush cards.
The zombies can go through the Crush zones without getting hurt,
no matter how strong they are. The Pumpking will give the zombies
100 attack and defense points for every Pumpking in play at the
beginning of your turn. It helps to have other cards to make more
Pumpkings.
Have three Slate Warriors in your deck and the Crush card along
with a few cards that can use the Crush card. The Gust Fan is
also a useful optional power-up for Slate Warrior. Place the Slate
Warriors out, but wait to flip them face up until you have all
three out, if possible. Once all three are out, flip them face
up to give each one a 1500 power bonus, making them 3400 ATK and
about 1900 DEF. Along with the Gust Fan you have 3700, not to
mention the Field Power bonus. If they move onto the crush terrain
that your weaker monster made with the Crush card, it makes a
grand total of 4200 ATK. Even if your opponent manages to defeat
one, the enemy will be destroyed by the crush terrain.
First, put as many as possible Yellow Luster Shields and Mimicats
into your playing deck. Next, put at least five of your strongest
monsters and lots of power ups. Finally, put one Shield And Sword.
During the duel, try to get your five strongest cards out on the
field and power them up as much as possible. Also, put all your
Yellow Luster Shields on the field. Once you have all five monsters
on the field, activate the Luster Shields, then using the Mimicats,
restore the Luster Shields and activate those as well. Once you
have all the Yellow Luster Shields gone, use your Shield And Sword
card to switch the defense and attack points.
Reincarnate card
If you surrender five times, you will be able to reincarnate
a card in your chest which will allow you to build your deck.
You can reincarnate after five duels, win or lose. For example,
after two wins and three losses still get to do it. It does not
have to be five times in a row.
Press [L3] to reincarnate.
Reincarnate more than three cards
from one
When you get to the point of reincarnating cards, copy
your game to a second memory card. Continue on the copied game
and reincarnate a card. Save your game and exit. Place both the
copied save game and the original saved game in the PlayStation2
and trade the reincarnated cards from the copy to the original.
You now have three new cards, and still can reincarnate a card.
Repeatedly reincarnate
To do this trick, you must have activate the reincarnate
option after you have played with the CPU five or more times.
Save your game before going to reincarnate. Reincarnate any desired
card, and if you did not like it, go to the main menu without
saving your previous reincarnation. Then, go to "Continue"
to try it again. Repeat this processes as many times as needed
until you get the desired cards.
Before reincarnating, save the game and copy it to a second memory
card. Then, go to "Build Deck", reincarnate, then save
the game. Go to "Trade", then select the new cards and
send them to the second memory card. Press [Start] on controller
two. No cards are required to trade for the new cards. Turn off
the PlayStation2, then turn it back on and copy the game from
the second memory card to the first memory card. You now have
new cards, plus the reincarnate ability Repeat this process to
reincarnate all cards possible and never lose one.
Reincarnating high deck cost cards
When you reincarnate cards of 45 points or more, Sujins
become the Fake Trap..... When reincarnating cards of 55 points
or more, Sujins and Wide Spread Ruin are the Fake Traps.
Duplicating cards
First, complete both sides of the game and have the
card you want duplicated as the deck leader. Then, create a terrain
like this:

NNLNLNN
NNNNNNN
NNNNNNN
NNNNNNN
NNNNNNN
NNNNNNN
NNNNNNN

Select "End" and your opponent will surrender. Then,
go to the slots and line up your deck leader and you will get
it. Note: This only works with certain cards.
Countering Mirror Force
When dueling against people with Mirror Force such
as Yugi, put your trap cards in defense mode so they cannot be
destroyed.
Defeating Fab Lyrr
Use Royal Decree, Mirror Wall, and some good monsters
cards in your deck.
Make sure you have a Green Kappa monster in your deck (or more
if possible). Fab Lyrr will most likely start off by playing Riroku
(power-up that uses half of your LP to power up his monster) and
a Skull Knight or something similar with over 2000 ATK. Once that
monster is on the field, go into the crush territory with your
leader, play the Green Kappa face down until you are in striking
range of his leader, and attack. The Green Kappa's effect will
increase his attack to over 4000 and destroy his leader in one
shot.
First, make a deck with Royal Decree, Mirror Wall, Mimecat, Magician
Of Faith, Monster Reborn, Meteor Black Dragon, Slate Warrior,
Infinite Dimension, Conversion Factory, Robot Knight, Cyber Commander,
Barrel Dragon, Limit Remover, Green Kappa, any terrain cards,
and any other desired cards. Change the terrain in the middle
of the field. Then, use Slate Warrior to make the part with the
labyrinth near the opponent's deck leader to crush terrain. If
you see a fusion, it is most likely a Black Meteor Dragon (3500/3000).
If you see a monster with a power boost of 2000 and, for example
force, then duel carefully; he uses Rioku (half of the opponent's
LP to boost your own monster). Put Mirror Wall in a corner so
it is harder for him to reach. Also try this power combo: Barrel
Dragon face up (destroys a card on the field; hopefully not yours)
equipped with Conversion Factory with Cyber Commander in defense
mode and Robot Knight in defense mode. Then use Limit Remover.
Your Barrel Dragon should be strong enough to take on a Black
Meteor Dragon. Use Infinite Dimension for protection. If you get
these cards on field or hand: Magician Of Faith, Green Kappa,
Monster Reborn, Meteor Black Dragon, Mimecat, Royal Decree, then
the duel is over. First. revive his Red Eyes Black Dragon then
fuse it with Meteor Dragon to get your own Black Meteor Dragon.
Then, activate Magician Of Faith's ability a use Rioku on your
Meteor Dragon. Next, do the same with Mimecat and your Black Meteor
Dragon should have a total of 6500/6000. Then use Royal Decree
to cancel any of his traps. Finally, play Green Kappa face up
in attack mode and it should have the same attack as your Black
Meteor Dragon (7000/6500).
Defeating Jasper Dice Tudor
First, defeat the Labyrinth Ruler until you get a Shadow
Ghoul or two, Then, go to Tudor and use the Shadow Ghoul. Enter
the labyrinth areas to turn it into a Wall Shadow, then use Reborn
The Monster or Mimicat (Magician Of Faith to get back magic cards)
to go and dig out Shadow Ghoul again and make another Wall Shadow.
Do this as many times as needed(at least twice recommended, but
three is best). Then, use the Shield And Sword card to switch
the Shadow Ghouls attack and defense and give it 3,000 attack
points. Also, use the Ancient Tree Of Enlightenment or a Royal
Decree to keep traps from getting the Wall Shadows. The Ancient
Tree Of Enlightenment is better, because you can turn it off by
switching to attack mode after you move (turn it back on at the
beginning of your next turn before you move) in case you have
trap cards such as Shadow Of Eyes, Mirror Wall, or Goblin Fan
out. The following are the card numbers that are recommended:
043, 123, 152, 655, 685, 687, (699, 824), 705, 736, 754, 814,
829.
Set Goblin Fan down and move it to one of your corners. When he
uses Just Deserts, he will destroy himself. You can also use Magician
Of Faith and Copycat after he uses Just Deserts and play it against
him.
Defeating Labyrinth Ruler
You will need a field card or a monster card that can
change the field type, such as Curse Of Drangon. You will need
this card to destroy the crush card field to get to his deck leader.
Get about two of these cards for both sides of the field. However,
sometimes he will summon Labyrinth Wall to you. In this situtation,
pack your deck with magic cards that attack your opponent's life
points. Note: You may have to win by default, because he has a
card which gives him 1000 life points.
Defeating Pegasus
Have Ancient Tree Of Enlightenment in face up defense
position. His effect allows no Trap cards to be activated when
in this position. Use Aqua Dragon powered up with Horn Of Light.
Move him into the Toonland terrain and keep advancing to Pegasus'
deck leader. When your opponent attacks (or when you attack),
Aqua Dragon's effect will be activated. The square occupied by
Aqua Dragon will be turned into sea. This boosts Aqua Dragon's
attack by 1000 points (up by 500 for not being in Toon, which
decreases its attack and another 500 for terrain bonus). His attack
will be 3250, which should be enough to defeat anything. You can
also use the water as a path for Suijin or other water monsters.
Pegasus has no Rose card to give you.
Defeating Weevil
Take the Mirror Wall card, put it in your deck, and
use it. Make sure you have a good deck like a Machine. For example,
Flame "Robotic Knight" and when he attacks, the ATK
power will be cut in half. Make sure you do not attack them or
Mirror Wall will not work. Earthshaker is also a good card to
attack with when get close to his leader.
Crush territory
When you play in the crush territory, you can only
play monsters with an attack power of 1500 -- be careful.
Zombie type monsters are allowed to go through the crush territory.
They do not need to have a certain attack.
Monsters like the Aqua Dragon and the Roaring Ocean Snake can
engage in battle in crush spaces due to their effects. When these
cards engage in battle, they transform the space into ocean terrain
which lets them attack monsters hiding in crush spaces. This guarantees
major damage because the target card must be 1500 AP or lower
to hide in a crush space (with the exception of immortal types).
Use the following trick to attack monsters on crush squares. You
need an Aqua Dragon, with equips if you need it to defeat the
monster. Then, go next to the crush square and attack the monster.
When you do this, Aqua Dragon's effect will transform the square
into a water square, giving you a boost and taking a crush square
away. It also allows you to move two spaces.
This trick works very well if you have a deck that is good in
crush terrain. First, you will need crush card or a card that
has an effect that turns terrain into crush (Two Dark Plants,
Slate Warrior, Crush Card and Magician Of Faith recommended).
Then, try to make a wall of crush infected terrain so that your
opponent's strong monsters cannot advance on your deck leader.
Then, move your deck leader to a location in the crush area that
is surrounded on all sides so that you can get your monsters to
the enemy deck leader faster. For example, (where "T"
is any type of terrain and "C" is crush terrain):

T T T T T T T
T C T T T C T
C C C C C C C
T C C C C C T
T T T C T T T
T T T T T T T
T T T T T T T

Note: This strategy will work well if you cover almost half of
the field with crush. Since only monsters with less than 1500
ATK (exluding imortal monsters) can enter the terrain, your opponents
strong monsters wont be able to attack and destroy your weak monsters
hiding in the crush terrain.
Immortal monsters
Aside from the normal monsters that have less than
1500 ATK and can survive in the Crush territory, there are Immortal
Type monsters that can both enter the area, regardless of Attack
Power, and gain a field power bonus of +500 points. When these
monsters are destroyed in battle, they turn the surrounding spaces
into Crush territory, literally leaving their mark.
Get a Great Mammoth Of Goldfine faced up spell bound.
Glitch: Face-up monsters face-down
Have a face-up monster on the field and White Hole
face-down on the field. If you or your opponent activates a Dark
Hole Magic card, White Hole will automatically activate and all
your opponents monsters will be destroyed except for yours. When
this is done, your monster(s) that were face-up on the field will
appear face-down but will have the same effects (if any) of a
face-up card.
Glitch: Barrel Dragon behavior
After completing either the White or the Red Rose quest
and starting the other, Barrel Dragon forgets which side you are
on. Instead of randomly destroying one of your opponent's monsters
when flipped, it will destroy one of yours instead. This works
against the CPU when the CPU uses Barrel Dragon also.
Glitch: Misspelling
In the instruction manual, it should read "Deck
Reader" instead of "Deck Leader".
Glitch: Wrong command
Power up an opponent's Zoe. It should be face down.
It appears you can control it, but it is called "???????".
