Keep a winning streak in Kumite mode
If you have a good winning streak going in the Kumite
mode and are about to lose, pause game play and return to the
main menu. The game will save. Once you return into Kumite, you
will still have your winning streak and no losses.
Easy wins
Use the following trick to get an easy 100 consecutive
wins. First, go into the options screen set the round count to
"1" and change the ring from "Random" to "Select
Stage". Go to versus mode with your created fighter and choose
the smallest ring (Island stage recommended). Once the match starts,
just dash into the other fighter so that he falls out of the ring.
It is possible to get 100 wins in about fifteen minutes.
Special items
Get a 100 consecutive wins in Kumite mode and your
character will be awarded a special item. Note: The item varies
with the fighter you use.
Orb items
Once you reach the Conqueror rank in Kumite mode you
will begin to face several opponents who are ranked as High Kings.
Each High King has a colored orb that you can collect by defeating
them. There are seven orbs in the following colors: crimson, green,
purple, blue, black, orange, and white. After you collect them
all, watch the screen and you will see the orbs merge together,
forming a item chest. Note: While you are still collecting the
orbs they will appear above your life bar, but when they form
the item they will be gone. This trick can also be repeated by
recollecting the orbs.
Normally, the only way you can get orb items for your character
is to fight and defeat the High Kings or Dural in Kumite. There
is a much easier way to do this. This trick requires two memory
cards, another character at who is at least second Dan, and at
least one character who already has all their orb items and a
full extra set of seven orbs. For the character(s) you wish to
obtain orbs for, copy them over to the second memory card. Then,
go to versus mode and load the orb carrying character for player
one. Select them and remove the memory card. Next, load the other
character on the player two side and proceed to beat up on the
player one character until you have all of their orbs then exit
out. Once you exit and the auto save completes, you will be able
to keep your orbs for the player one character since there is
no file to save on that side. Player two gets the orbs with minimal
effort. If the player two character has more than one orb item,
reinsert the player one memory card and repeat the process.
Disgrace items
To get a disgrace item, your character has to be third
Dan or above. You can get and remove the disgrace items in versus
mode.

Kage: Ring out
On arenas with low walls such as the City and the Palace,
you can get a ring out even though they are closed arenas. Back
up against a wall and perform Kage's throw that slings them way
up in the air ([Back], [P] + [G]). Your opponent
will fly over the wall, giving you a easy and risk free ring out.
This also works on arenas with breakable walls such as the Gym.
It is also possible to chain the throw with [Up], [P]
+ [G] to grab your opponent in mid-air and slam them outside
the ring onto their heads.
Kage: Broken legs
In two player mode, chose an open arena and have player
one or two go to the edge of the ring. Press [R2] to kick
the other player out of the ring. When the player (Kage) hits
the ground, jump on him. If done correctly you will hear a crack.
Vanessa: Gold hair with player one
costume
Normally when you unlock Vanessa's gold hair you can
only equip it on her player two costume. In order to get her gold
hair with her player one costume, you must first unlock her ninth
color scheme (by reaching tenth Dan). Then, go to "Edit File",
select her player one costume and choose her ninth color. Her
hair will now be gold. It will read "Unknown Color"
and not appear in her hair item list.
Jump attack
When a character is on the floor, press [Up] +
[X].
Early A.I. training
The following is a method to get your A.I. to a good
fighting level before he/she has to go into Kumite mode. First
create the A.I. (for example, Lion). First, teach it the basics;
punch, etc. When you get a good feel for it, take the A.I. into
versus mode. Make sure that you use the exact same character as
your opponent. Also, make sure the settings are on anywhere from
two to five battles to win. Continue to battle the A.I. normally.
Do not worry about KOing it until you only need one win to defeat
the A.I. Then, just let the A.I. defeat you. Continue this process.
This allows you to train your A.I., monitor its progress, and
not damage its personal data.
