Get all 151 Pokemon in the hall of fame.

Surfing Pikachu
Successfully complete the game to unlock Surf for Pikachu.

To teach your Pikachu Surf, unlock Round 2. Then, get up to the Masterball setting on either the Poke Cup or Prime Cup (in Round 2). Complete the Masterball setting using Pikachu as one of your active Pokemon each round (he must be one of the three you choose to battle with). The Pikachu may not be part of a registered team or a Rental. If you succeed, the game congratulate you and ask if you would like to replace one of Pikachu's moves with surf. Select "Yes", and select the move to be forgotten. The Pikachu will now pull out a surfboard and ride the wave whenever Surf is used.

Note: Surfing Pikachu is not in the Japanese version of the game.

Talking Pikachu
Upload Pikachu from the yellow version the game to Pokemon Stadium. When battling, Pikachu will say "Pike Pika" and have different motions for certain moves. Note: You must go to battle for this to work. Do not register Pikachu.

If a Pikachu is uploaded from the Pokemon Red or Blue or is a Rental, it will only make its basic growl, but look more aggressive.

Alternate Pokemon colors
Pokemon that you upload from the Game Boy version can have alternate colors. Giving your Pokemon various nicknames will change its colors. Switch syllables, such as calling a Mewtwo to "Twomew" (blue color). Separate the syllables with a hyphen, such as Mewtwo to "Mew-two". Also try naming the Pokemon in all lower-case characters. To find out more methods, note the color of the opposing Pokemon and look at their nicknames.

Naming a Pokemon after an attack will change its color. Note: This does not work for some attacks, and some Pokemon either will not change color or will do so very slightly. This is not limited to attacks that the Pokemon know or can learn. Some examples:
"HYDRO PUMP": Dark Blue Gyarados

Start with all three beginning Pokemon in Game Boy game
When you start a new game, you can start with all three beginning Pokemon by starting over and choosing one of them in the Game Boy Pokemon game. Then, capture a Pidgey or Rattata. Save it to the boxes on Pokemon Stadium. Repeat the steps with a different Pokemon until you get all three. You can also save and keep Pokemon from your old game that you still want before starting over.

Start a new game and get any starting Pokemon. Catch a Pidgey or Rattata and save. Place the starting Pokemon in the N64 box in Professor Oaks lab. Leave Pidgey or Rattata in your lineup. Then, save and quit. Start a new game and do the same thing except with a different starting Pokemon. Do this for the last starting Pokemon, then take the two others out of the N64 box and put them on your game. Note: The first two starting Pokemon will not obey you until you get the correct badge.

Get Pokemon presents faster
Defeat the Gym Leader Castle. Then, when you want to complete it again go to the Gym Leader Castle, go directly to the Elite 4, then defeat your rival.

Round 2
Successfully complete the game to unlock a much harder version of the Stadium, Gym Leader's Castle, and Mewtwo Battle modes. If you defeat Mewtwo, you can use him in some battles.

Mewtwo Battle
Complete all Cups in stadium mode, and defeat all opponents in the Gym Leader's Castle. Mewtwo is the last opponent you will face in both Round 1 and Round 2 versions of the game.

Defeating Mewtwo easily with rental Pokemon
Select Electrode , and five other Pokemon that know one-hit K.O. attacks (i.e. Horndrill, Fissure, Guilliotine). Send out electrode first and use Thunder Wave -- this will allow all of your Pokemon to get the first attack. Do not attack mewtwo with Electrode - you do not want him to use Rest, which will get rid of the paralyzation. Send out another Pokemon and use the one hit K.O. attack. If that Pokemon faints, send out the next one and try again. This will defeat Mewtwo in one hit.

Mew
Mew will become playable, as a "Rental" Pokemon, in the Round 2 version of the game. He can only be played in the Prime Cup tournament, the Gym Leader's Castle, the Free Battle, and the Mewtwo Battle modes.

Mew in Prime Cup
This trick requires a Game Boy GameShark and Pokemon Yellow. First start the game and enable the GameShark code in to catch Mew. Put it first in your line up, then save the game. Go to the GameShark screen and enable the code for the first Pokemon in your line up to be any desired Pokemon. Check your stats it should display your selected Pokemons picture but Mew's name and information. Save the game. Place the game in the transfer pak and go to the Pokemon Stadium building. When prompted to select Pokemon, chose the one that was Mew. When you start the match, the Pokemon will be Mew.

Moltres: Looks bald
Have a Pokemon that knows Fireblast against Moltres. Use Fireblast on the Moltres. If it hits, look at the top of its head and it will appear that Moltres is bald.

Bonus Stickers
Successfully complete R-1 mode, defeat Mewtwo, and complete R-2 Mode, and defeat Mewtwo again. Enter the gallery screen, then hold [L] + [R] and highlight the "Print" option. Keep holding the buttons until "Print" changes to "Bonus" to access sixteen more stickers.

Avoid recoil damage
If you use an attack that you know you will kill the opposing Pokemon but will hit you with the recoil, make sure that your Pokemon has at least 20 HP left. Use the attack and you will not suffer the recoil damage.

Receive less damage
Use the following trick when your Pokemon is receiving a fatal attack, such as when Thunder is used on a Water Pokemon, to leave you with enough HP to attack your opponent once. When your opponent's Pokemon begins to use the attack, hold [Down] + [L] + [B] until the energy takes its affect. With the energy it leaves, you will have a chance to strike your opponent's Pokemon. Note: This will not work if Pokemon are totally mismatched, such as when a level 50 Pokemon is fighting a level 100 Pokemon. Also, it will only work between 70% to 80% of the time.

Hold [B] the entire time that the CPU controlled Pokemon is powering Note: This does not work all the time.

Inflict greater damage
While your Pokemon is doing the attack, hold [Down] + [L] and repeatedly press [A]. Then when your Pokemon attacks, hold [Down] + [L] + [A] until the damage is taken. This is very effective when you attempt a fatal attack. Note: This trick only works between 80% to 90% of the time.

Lower opponent Pokemon levels
If you are battling in the Stadium or Gym Leader Castle and have Pokemon under level 100, rent all the Pokemon you are going to use. Your opponent's Pokemon will be at the same level as your rental Pokemon, level 50. Note: In the Prime Cup your opponent will use all Lv.100 Pokemon because rental Pokemon are at Lv.100 in Prime Cup.

Attack first
Immediately after you choose a move and you want to go first instead of the CPU, hold [L] and press [A]. This works about 50% of the time, mostly in the Pika Cup.

Easy wins
Get Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, and three other Pokemon of your choice. Start with Zapdos against Lorelei. This should be a quick win. For Bruno, use any of the three legendary Pokemon. Against Agatha, use Articuno's Ice Beam for decent win. Against Lance, use Zapdos. He almost always uses Lapras. Use Zapdos' Thunder attack. When he uses the others, switch to Articuno or keep Zapdos. Finally against your rival, use Zapdos. He will most likely use Slowbro, the Clefable, and the last one usually changes. After you defeat him, it should show which Pokemon were on your team. At this rate you will only get three Pokemon at a time in the Hall of Fame.

Gym Leader Castle battles
An easy way to get the Pokemon Presents and register all 151 Pokemon is to repeatedly use Mewtwo in the Gym Leader Castle. However, need to watch out for certain dangers. First, Mewtwo needs some effective moves. Make sure it knows Thunder, Recover, Blizzard and Psychic. A victory is not a guaranteed by just using Mewtwo, but this is the easiest way and you should succeed within five tries. Just keep using Mewtwo and load the rest of the team with rentals in chronological order. Note: This is a R-1 strategy, as R-2 is more difficult.
Lorelei
If Lorelei brings out Slowbro as her first Pokemon, reset and try again. You cannot win if this happens -- Slowbro will paralyze Mewtwo. Use Thunder on her Ice and Water types first, then finish with Psychic. Do not use Thunder as a finisher because there is a chance it will miss.

Bruno and Agatha
Just use Psychic on Bruno's Fighting types and Agatha's Pokemon, and Blizzard on Bruno's Rock types. Both will be easy victories. Every hit is one-punch except for Gengar, when it appears.

Lance
Use Blizzard to take care of Lance's annoying Wrap-happy Dragonair if he selects it. The same move will one-punch Exeggutor. You have to watch out for Lapras. Use Thunder or Psychic, but watch out for its Body Slam -- it may paralyze or freeze you. Clefable is tough unless you have Recover. Do not worry about Ninetales unless your life is low -- use Psychic twice on it.

Rival
Rival is not as tough as Lance but you should still watch out. Psychic most of his Pokemon. You can win from here, but there is still a good chance of the opposite happening.
Recommended Pokemon types
The best Pokemon types to have for any Cup or Gym Leader Castle and the Mewtwo Battle are: Psychic, Electric, Water, or a dual type of Water and Ice, Fire, and Ground. You can pick any type for the sixth spot, however try to choose a type other than the ones previously listed.

Recommended Pokemon for Pokemon Cup
When you enter a cup, choose Charizard, Blastoise, Venasaur, Raichu, Pidgeot, and Kadabra.

Better Pokemon in battle now mode
Unlock round two to get better Pokemon in the battle now mode.

Checking a Pokemon's ability
When selecting Pokemon before battling, hold [L] and press any of the Pokemon's buttons to see its type, HP, and moves.

Pokemon weaknesses
Normal Pokemon are weak against Fighting types.
Fire Pokemon are weak against Water, Ground and Rock types.
Water Pokemon are weak against Electric and Grass types.
Electric Pokemon are weak against Ground types.
Grass Pokemon are weak against: Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying and Bug types.
Ice Pokemon are weak against Fire, Fighting and Rock types.
Fighting Pokemon are weak against Flying and Psychic types.
Poison Pokemon are weak against Ground, Psychic and Bug types.
Ground Pokemon are weak against Water, Grass and Ice types.
Flying Pokemon are weak against Electric, Ice and Rock types.
Psychic Pokemon are weak against Bug types.
Bug Pokemon are weak against Fire, Poison, Flying and Rock types.
Rock Pokemon are weak against Water, Grass, Fighting and Ground types.
Ghost Pokemon are weak against Ghost types.
Dragon Pokemon are weak against Ice and Dragon types.
Trade with out a second transfer pak
Put a box on the game, then put the Pokemon from a different game or the same one in the box. Then, go back to the lab and put the box back on the game that you are trading to, go to the box, and withdraw the Pokemon when you want or need it.

Transfer Pokemon
Use the transport feature of the cartridge to easily move Pokemon that are unique to the red, blue, or yellow versions between those Game Boy cartridges.

Give Pokemon to another Game Boy pak without getting one back
Place the desired Pokemon in a separate box from which you have your regular Pokemon. Next, transfer that box to the 64box on the N64. Then shut off the system (if you only have one transfer pack) and insert desired Game Boy pak. If you have two transfer packs, then just switch the Game Boy pak with the one you are going to trade to. Then, transfer the box with the Pokemon in it to the other Game Boy pak and you will have the Pokemon without giving one in return.

Special moves
Seismic Toss and Night Shade are special moves. The damage they inflict is equal to their level. A level 63 Gengar will inflict 63 HP damage to the other Pokemon, regardless of type, level, or defense. A level 76 Machamp will inflict 76 HP damage to the other Pokemon, regardless of type, level, or defense (except for ghosts, which are immune to normal moves). Also, Psywave inflicts HP damage 1 to 1 1/2 times the level of the attacking Pokemon. A level 50 Alakazam can inflict anywhere from 50-75 HP damage regardless of Pokemon type, level, or defense.

Flying Poke Cup roof lights
Win the Vs. Mewtwo battle to see the credits. When a scene showing the Poke Cup Arena appears, look at the roof lights to see that they are flying.

Ineffective moves
When battling normal type Pokemon do not use Seismic Toss. It can be a fighting move, but is not very effective. The same happens with the Mega Drain attack when battling some Ground Pokemon in the Poke Cup, Prime Cup and Gym Leader's Castle.

Substitute Pokemon and Missingno resemblance
Use a Pokemon that has substitute. Use the substitute and it will look like Missingno. does in the snapshots.

Missingno warning
Do not transfer Missingno or Mew to Pokemon Stadium. It may glitch the game and make it unplayable.

If Missingno present, select the gallery and choose where it is located. It should resemble a baby Rhydon that looks purple.

Place a Game Boy game with a Missingno in the line up or box. Do not register it. Go to the snapshot area and select a Missingno or any other glitched Pokemon. When you get outside to take pictures, the Pokemon will look like a miniature Kanghaskhan or Rhydon.

Mew warning
Do not trade a Mew level 10 or higher in the trading mode in Pokémon Stadium. It will glitch the game, and if you want your data back, you must call Nintendo (1-800-225-3700) to fix it.

GameShark codes without a Nintendo 64 GameShark
The "Import" feature and import pack can be used with Game Boy GameShark codes while playing the original game or codes designed for it.

Unlimited number of same Pokemon
Note: This trick requires the Mega Memory Card from InterAct. Save your file on the Mega Memory Card. Go to the Pokemon Lab in and put the Pokemon to be duplicated in a 64 Box. Reload your game on the Mega Memory Card and receive your Pokemon in the 64 Box. Repeat as many times as desired to create an unlimited number of the same Pokemon.
