Start with all items
Enter "LCT..F FB..NF" or "LQWLQW LQWLQW" as a password.

Start with Gimli and Sam
Enter "BBBBBB BBBBBB" as a password and press [Start]. Ignore the invalid password message. Remove all characters from the password and press [Start] to begin the game with Gimli and Sam already in the party.

Super password
Enter the following password to start with all characters, rings, and gems.

All characters
Enter the following password, then press [Start]. Then, delete the code and press [Start] to get all the characters.

"L22" is Frodo, "M22" is Merry, "YK5" is Sam, "K14" is Pippen, "J4T" is Legolas, "4B5" is Aragon, "N8W" is Gimli, "ACW" is Gandalf. You can further manipulate the code to unlock more things. However, If you raise the middle character too high the screen will get blurry when you look at that character's stats.

Password editing
The first two rows of the game's password are broken down as follows. Every three spaces represent a character. The first space is the ones place for experience. The second place is the tens place for experience. The third place is for the characters equipment.

Defeating Balrog
Balrog can only be defeated if Gandalf is not in the party.

Easy experience
If you want to gain levels at the beginning of the game without the danger of being hurt, just talk to the people in town. Every time you talk to someone you will gain one experience point. The first two or three levels only require 10 to 15 experience points.

Glitch: High stats
Do not build any character's strength or defense over 99, or they will reset to 0.

Glitch: Strange select screen
Enter "9" for the first two lines of the password and press [Start]. Delete all of the "9"s and press [Start]. You will have all players and a glitched select screen.
