Editing in Season mode
Normally, MLB '06 doesn't let you edit player names. But, thanks to a programming error, you can do so, at least in the season mode. For some reason, you're allowed to change the names of free agents. So, if you want to rename a fictional player to match his real-life self, release him into the free agent pool and then you'll be able to give him a name change.
