When you are racing, there are three types of turns: easy, medium, and hard. To make the hard turns easier, press [Circle] before you actually turn to powerslide around it.

Unlock Modes
Checkpoint mode - Beat Nations Cup (in ROC game mode) with all car classes.
World Tour Extreme - Beat World Tour mode in Quick Race.
