Survival mode
Quickly press [Up], [Down], [Left], [Right], [Left], [Down], [Up], [B], [A], [Start] at the Capcom logo.

Easy special moves
While fighting in a single player battle, press [Select]. This will allows you to pull off special moves with easy movements. For example, as Ryu press [Forward] + [Punch] for the Fireball, and the Fireball move now does the Dragon punch. This makes the game much easier to play with the small D-Pad.

Alternate costume
Highlight a fighter at the character selection screen, then press [B] or [R]. In the Japanese version of the game, highlight a fighter at the character selection screen, then press [A] + [B].

Press [A] at the character selection screen to get the fighter's normal costume. Press [B], [L], or [R] to get an alternate costume for your fighter. Press [Start] to get your fighter's special costume. Note: Not all characters have all four costumes.

In game-reset
Press [Select] + "Start "during gane game play select for options to continue, change the button codes, or exit the fight.

Akuma (Gouki)
Accumulate 5000 vs. points.

Super Akuma (Shin Gouki)
Accumulate 9999 vs. points.

Secret modes
Play single player mode to unlock secret modes such as survival and time attack.

Play in the game in arcade mode as Ryu to unlock survival mode.

Gallery mode
Accumulate 8000 vs. points. Alternately, successfully complete the game under skill setting 8 without using any continues. Press [R] at the main menu to view character art in the gallery.

Fireball: [Down], [Down/Forward], [Forward] + [Punch]; can be done in air.
Fireball (easy): [Forward] + [Punch]; can be done in air.
Dragon Punch: [Forward], [Down], [Down/Forward] + [Punch].
Dragon Punch (easy): [Down] + [Punch].
Hurricane Kick: [Down], [Down/Back], [Back] + [Kick]; can be done in air.
Hurricane Kick (easy): [Back] + [Kick]; can be done in air.
Raging Demon: [Back], [Forward], [Down/Back] or [Forward], [Down], [A] + [B].

Easy survival mode
To easily kill all the opponents in the survival mode challenges, select E. Honda. At the beginning of the fight, press [Select] to make the controls easier. Then, constantly do the Sumo Head-Butt ([Back], [Forward], [Punch]). This kills the first few fighters with just one hit. If they get too close, just do the Hundred Hand Slap ([Punch] rapidly). This is a very easy way to get a lot of points.

Easy barrel and car mini-games
To beat up the car in the bonus round quickly, use E. Honda. Do the Hundred Hand Slap ([Punch] rapidly) on one side of the car, then jump over to the other side and do it again. If done quickly enough, you can destroy it in under ten seconds. To break all twenty barrels quickly, use Blanka. When the bonus round starts, go into the light where the barrels fall out. Then, without stopping, constantly use the Shock attack ([Punch] rapidly). All the barrels will fall into the electricity, breaking them instantly. These are good ways to get a lot of points.

Use powers easily
When you are fighting, press [Select] and you will be able to use your character's powers easier. Pnce your Super meter fills, press [A] + [B]. Note: Once you press [Select], do not press it again for the rest of the session. If you do, it will reset the trick.
